A chorus of "Oohs" and "Aahs" arose from our family

EVERYTHING! It was wonderfully appointed and even came with bikes to borrow, sand toys, and an outdoor shower to wash off a day at the beach. At other seaside rentals, my children usually brought half of the shore line inside and we all end up fighting itchy sand for the remainder of the stay. Not this time. We were able to direct them to the outdoor shower that was steps from the house. A huge help -- especially for all those moms who do most of the packing for the family -- was if there was anything we forgot to bring, the home inevitably had it there for us to use. The beds were luxurious and the bathrooms...a person could have lived inside of the shower stall alone! it was everything we needed and more than we knew we wanted!

We arrived at Cohasset Beach with no previous experience in the town of Westport. Craning our necks to get a good view of our new surroundings and feeling a bit trepidatious at what we might find, our mouths hung open and slack when we turned onto the beach house road. Each home reached to the blue sky looking natural and luxurious at the same time. A chorus of "Oohs" and "Aahs" arose from our family car as we discovered which house was to be ours for our visit. As we entered the home, we could not believe our eyes! It was beautifully appointed, professionally decorated, and it held many technological amenities. The surround system went throughout the house and even reached the bathrooms and deck area. The gourmet kitchen contained every tool necessary to feed a large family and served as the center of all our gatherings during our stay.

Though our rental home was behind another, our view of the water was breath taking and the large outdoor deck served as our platform to view the sunset each night. The amazing gas fueled fire-pit was a favorite of the kids as we roasted marshmallows for dessert every evening! And the sound of the crashing waves on the beach greeted us each morning as we enjoyed that spectacular view along with our morning coffee.

Speaking of the beach, I never knew you could stay so close to an ebbing and flowing tide! Since the homes were settled above the shore line by about 15 feet, the houses were very close to the water without touching it. I could watch my boys clamber down to the search for sea glass and sand dollars without leaving the comfort of the house.

Cohasset beach and the town of Westport are on our list of places to visit in the coming year. We are excited about the idea of even driving down in Winter to watch the stormy sea and enjoy the Sanderling Home once again.
