About Oregon Click here to see lodging list

From Spanish and English sailors who sighted the Oregon coast as early as the 1500s and 1600s to Capt. James Cook as he searched for the Northwest Passage in 1778, Oregon has been attracting visitors. Lewis and Clark came and spent time in 1805 followed by John Jacob Astor in 1811 when he formed a fur depot.

There is much to see in do. From central plains and soaring mountains to a rugged coast filled with wildlife and natural attractions. The state has healthy agriculture and lumber products industries; salmon fishing and low-cost hydro electric dams. Commerce thrives in Western Oregon.

Major attractions dot the landscape such as Crater Lake National Park, Mount Hood, and Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River. Or visit the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, Oregon Caves National Monument, Cape Perpetua in Siuslaw National Forest, Columbia River Gorge between The Dalles and Troutdale, Hells Canyon, Newberry Volcanic National Monument, and John Day Fossil Beds National Monument.

When you visit Oregon, you always come back.
