About Seattle In Town, Seattle, Washington Click here to see lodging list

The city can't decide on a slogan because nothing completely encompasses everything Seattle has to offer. The Jet City. The Emerald City and now Metronatural. In any case, it’s a delight for visitors. From the every bustling Pike Place market to the superb shopping, from professional sports to world class museums downtown Seattle and neighboring communities make a wonderful destination.

Did you know that the first Starbuck's was downtown Seattle? And that Bill Gate's dad headed a law firm there? In our old town Pioneer Square you can take an underground tour that would make the Egyptians proud.

The Seattle Museum and Seattle Repertory theatre are downtown. As is ACT and the Intiman theatre. Ride the monorail from the heart of the city to the Seattle center with its Pacific Science Center (great for kids) and the Space needle that hovers over everything in the area. Ride to the top for an out-of-this-world view.

Ferry's run directly out of downtown toward all parts of Puget sound. Cruise ships leave from the water front to all parts of the British Columbia Coast and up through the pandhandle of Alaska and Skagway, the kick off for the Alaska Gold Rush all those years ago.
